The duration of the pediatrics program is 6 years, completing which students are awarded an undergraduate degree that combines studying pediatrics coursework, practical training in prescription, diagnosis, and treatment of real-life medical cases, and clinical experience under the guidance of expert faculty. To earn this degree, students have to excel at various topics such as child development, pediatric anatomy, physiology, immunology, genetics, pharmacology, nutrition, and common pediatric diseases.

Throughout the program, students participate in hands-on clinical rotations in various pediatric specialties, such as neonatology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric surgery, pediatric neurology, and pediatric intensive care. When students are done with the Pediatrics program at BSMU, graduates are awarded a Bachelor's degree in Pediatrics, which is recognized nationally and internationally. Graduates are eligible to pursue licensure and practice as pediatricians in their respective countries. They can choose to work in hospitals, pediatric clinics, and community health centers, or pursue further specialization in pediatric subspecialties through postgraduate studies
